Today, SafetyCulture announced we have made viewing of Export Profiles available on our desktop platform. Using the profiles you have created within the SafetyCulture iAuditor app, you can select those same profiles and export PDF’s from your audits online.
What is an Export Profile?
An Export Profile is a saved setting you apply to a specific template. If you want a template to be set up to only email certain people or to have a customized report for management, then you can create an Export Profile for that template. By using template specific Export Profiles, you can centrally manage the appearance and sharing capability of reports for your entire team. If you are an admin, you can restrict the editing capability of your Export Profiles, so your team always sends the right audits to the correct email addresses.
Example of our customers using Export Profiles
Many of our customers are already using Export Profiles on their devices to customize their reports and sharing options. With Export Profiles now visible on desktop, it is going to be much easier for admins to export PDF’s using their already customized profiles. One of our customers, Zingara’s Kitchen owns 10 restaurants in Australia. The general managers, operations manager, store managers and HR department all use SafetyCulture iAuditor seven days a week to conduct various audits across each store. Zingara’s Kitchen uses 25 standardized company templates, each with their own unique Export Profile.
Goods received audit
When the company receives deliveries for their restaurants, a store manager conducts an audit to ensure the goods received are high quality and match the invoice. Once this audit is complete, the manager can use the Export Profile already set up within the template to share the report with accounts. See the image below for an explanation.
Staff induction audit
For a new staff induction, an Export Profile was set up within this template to send an email to management and the HR department to ensure that person has been onboarded.
Store closing audit
When a store closing audit is conducted, Zingara’s Kitchen has set up an Export Profile that allows the auditor to automatically send it to the store manager.
How to create an Export Profile in the app
We’ve used iOS as an example, for the time being all Export Profiles must be created within a device.
- Open iAuditor
- Tap on “Templates” on the left-hand side of the screen.
- In the “Templates” view, tap on the “Edit” icon to edit your template.
- In the Template Editor screen, tap on the downward-facing arrow in the top, right-hand corner of the screen.
- Tap on the “Cog” icon, and in the menu that opens, tap on “Manage Export Profiles”.
- Tap on “Edit settings and manage device profiles”, and set your chosen preferences.
- Once you have set your Export preferences, tap on the “Back” button until you are returned to the Export Profiles screen.
- You will be prompted to save your settings as an Export Profile. Give your Profile a name, and tap “Done” to save the Profile.
In the “Export Profiles” screen, you should be able to see any Export Profiles you have created, as well as the “Edit settings and manage device profiles” button. In this screen, you should be able to see the Export Profile you created in the above steps.
Tap on the Export Profile that you created to attach it to the template, and then tap “Close”. Once you have selected an Export Profile, it should have a blue tick icon next to it.
To apply an Export Profile to a Template, see this tutorial.
