SafetyCulture has been named as one of the best tech companies to work for in the 2020 Best Places to Work survey. The study, which ranked SafetyCulture fourth*, is conducted based on one of the world’s most comprehensive assessments of workplace culture by Great Place to Work Australia.
Founded in 2004 in Townsville, Queensland, SafetyCulture has gone onto become the world’s leading platform for workplace safety and efficiency. Today, more than 26,000 organisations across diverse industries in 85 countries use SafetyCulture’s iAuditor app.
“At SafetyCulture, we empower frontline workers to improve safety, quality and efficiency in their workplace every day. We’re a mission driven organisation that is made up of people who are drawn to our business because they are passionate about making a difference in the world,” says Anna Wenngren, Vice President of People & Culture at SafetyCulture. “It is great to be recognised as one of Australia’s best tech companies to work for at a time when the work we do every day has never been more important.”
Working during COVID
In response to COVID-19, SafetyCulture launched its Safely Back to Business initiative to support organisations reopening amid new safety restrictions and advice. COVID-19 workplace guidance has been digitised from governments and leading industry bodies around the world into free, ready to use and customisable checklists. Already, more than 75,000 people worldwide are using the iAuditor app to complete daily COVID-19 specific checklists.
“2020 has been an extraordinary year for SafetyCulture with our team focused on supporting our customers through the COVID-19 crisis,” says Wenngren. “We’re made up of enthusiastic problem solvers seeking to put safety into the hands of every worker in the world.”
Perks of working at SafetyCulture Australia include:

SafetyCulture to continue its expansion
The Best Places to Work accolade follows SafetyCulture becoming an Australian unicorn in April 2020 with a pre-money valuation of AU$1.35 billion after closing AU$60.5 million funding round.
Its exponential growth rate and success shows no signs of slowing. Its employee base has grown by 60% in less than two years, with similar projections expected across its engineering, product development and customer support team over the next two to three years.
“Our strong onboarding program is a fundamental part of how we set new employees up for success. We know it’s not just about making them welcome on day one, but supporting them over their initial six months as they ramp up to help them feel welcomed, at ease and geared to excel. From technical bootcamps, to in-person and Zoom coffee chats, each onboarding is personalised with their manager. Importantly, every employee meets with every member of our Senior Leadership Team, ensuring they walk away as a product expert with a deep understanding of every part of our business.”
In recent years, the business added to its original Townsville office, opening offices in the UK, USA, Philippines and relocating its headquarters to Sydney. With its product development and engineering teams based solely in Sydney and Townsville, one of the biggest benefits for local employees, is the impact they have through creating products that are embraced around the world.
