SafetyCulture courts more success with the appointment of Craig Tiley to board

Media Release | By | 5 Aug 2021 | 2 minute read

SafetyCulture, the global operations platform which empowers working teams to drive improvements in the workplace, is one of the fastest growing technology companies in Australia. This new addition to the board demonstrates SafetyCulture’s continued commitment to growth and follows a recent funding round that saw it reach an AU$2.2 billion valuation in May 2021.

Luke Anear, CEO of SafetyCulture said of the appointment, “Craig’s vision for the Australian Open brand, and the incredible experiences they now deliver around the world, is second to none. It is rare to meet someone who is so humble and yet so successful. Craig’s long-standing partnership with our leadership team has laid the foundation for his invitation to join our board and formally guide the growth of the business”.

Tiley is Chief Executive Officer & Australian Open Tournament Director and joins board members Luke Anear, Rick Baker and Jan Hammer.

Tiley commented on joining the SafetyCulture board saying, “SafetyCulture is a prime example of great people, leading a team with vision with the drive to make it happen. I’ve worked with the SafetyCulture team for years and I am humbled at the opportunity to come on board and be part of the next stage of growth and expansion.”

Tiley has been at Tennis Australia for 16 years and has been Chief Executive Officer since October 2013. He is credited with transforming the Open into Australia’s largest and most successful international sporting and entertainment event watched by over one billion people worldwide. In his seven years at the helm, TA’s revenues have more than doubled, from $160 million to over $450 million.

In recent years, Tennis Australia has worked with SafetyCulture’s iAuditor app for checks across a wide range of operational activities, including inspecting seating, catering, and equipment, and general safety and compliance checks.

Evolving the organisation and expanding its impact

SafetyCulture continues to focus on evolving from a checklist app into an operations platform for working teams. Its technology currently supports 28,000 companies to improve operations. Recent analysis by Forrester found that SafetyCulture’s flagship products – iAuditor and EdApp – provided a 214% return on investment for its customers.*
