SafetyCulture Next 2025: Why a culture of improvement is no longer optional for frontline industries

SafetyCulture Next 2025
Frontline teams are tired of clunky tools and disconnected processes.

At SafetyCulture Next 2025, we unveiled a better way, using our new AI-powered features and intelligent workflows designed to embed a culture of improvement into the everyday flow of work. Read on to explore our new frontline solutions.

It started with a simple question: “What’s actually happening on the ground?”

The truth is, most organizations don’t know. The information they’re getting from their frontline teams is often incomplete and fragmented. That’s because traditional operations tools aren’t built for how frontline teams work.

Workers are still filling out endless paper forms, juggling a bunch of tools that don’t talk to each other, and following processes that may or may not be the most up-to-date. It’s clunky, disconnected, and seemingly pointless because it never leads to meaningful change and distracts from more important tasks.

Multiply that by every shift, every site, and every team member, and you start to see the real cost. Not only is it expensive, it’s frustrating for every person involved. All while keeping leadership in the dark about what’s really going on.

This is the story we hear over and over again from operations teams across all frontline industries.

So, we asked a different question: What if frontline visibility were more than just digitizing old processes? What if it were fully integrated into your team’s tasks, systems, workflows, and teams so everyone could play a role in making it better?

That’s the shift we’re building for our customers right now. At SafetyCulture Next 2025, our global product update event, we unveiled a suite of AI-powered updates and platform enhancements designed to fit into your frontline teams’ day – not disrupt it.

Now, organizations can create a culture of improvement from the ground up, with intelligent workflows stemming from the heart of their business: the frontline.

Real-world impact: Unlocking a culture of improvement

This is where it gets exciting. Some organizations aren’t just talking about this shift, they’re actually out there doing it.

At SafetyCulture Next 2025, we showcased real stories from frontline customers across manufacturing, construction, hospitality, retail, and beyond who are getting ahead – not just getting by. They’re building a genuine culture of improvement where every team member has the tools and visibility to make better decisions every day.

Here’s how they’re using our intelligent workflows and connected insights to completely flip how their frontline teams work:

How Thermosash achieved ISO Certification in 6 months

New Zealand’s Thermosash, a manufacturing and installation business specializing in bespoke building envelopes, achieved ISO Certification in just six months by centralizing their operations and training in SafetyCulture.

They’ve also been an early adopter of SafetyCulture’s new preventative maintenance feature. In the factory, they installed vibration sensors on key equipment, like their million-dollar CNC machines, to give them an early warning signal to schedule maintenance before a small fix becomes a costly repair, downtime, and delays.

How PHX Ireland built visibility into their frontline teams’ day

Pharmaceutical group PHX Ireland, which includes McCabes Pharmacy and United Drug, cut administrative tasks for their frontline team by a staggering 40% by digitizing daily operations across their business with SafetyCulture.

Teams can now complete checklists and receive sensor alerts all from their mobile devices. Plus, they can report hazards and near-misses with Issues and escalate urgent ones to an Investigation – a brand new SafetyCulture feature – to prevent them from becoming recurring problems.

With key processes now automated in one platform, teams get instant visibility into what went wrong, where, and why, and make improvement part of their workflow. So they create a safer, more compliant workplace and can truly focus on what’s most important – patient care.

“With the old system, it was easy for things to slip through the cracks. If you have a safety incident, you want to learn from that because you need to prevent recurrence. SafetyCulture’s Investigations can really help with that.”

– Tom Brown, Head of Environmental, Health and Safety at United Drug

How GROWMARK shifted from a reactive to proactive safety model

Agricultural cooperative GROWMARK successfully connected and centralized safety and best practices for its vast network of 9,000+ members over 106 locations across the U.S. and Canada with SafetyCulture.

With important processes and checklists standardized, captured, and automated in Inspections – now with upgraded calculations and approvals functionality – GROWMARK now has better visibility over what’s happening on the ground and can quickly identify and communicate any risks, expectations, or best practices with in-platform Analytics and Heads Up.

“When you’ve got a culture where your employees feel safe to share a near miss or an accident for the benefit of all, that to me is culturally significant.”

– Karmy Kays, GROWMARK’s Chief Financial Officer

How FISHBOWL scaled without losing its secret sauce

Australian quick-service restaurant FISHBOWL effectively scaled its brand standards across 50+ locations and recently expanded into the U.S. as THISBOWL. Previously, FISHBOWL’s founders would travel to every location to roll out their operations and training. But as they scaled, this level of oversight became difficult to maintain.

Now, FISHBOWL uses Inspections for its daily operations to make sure every location offers a consistent experience from the quality of their bowls to restaurant atmosphere, and health and safety compliance. They also use Training to deliver bite-sized lessons to their frontline teams’ devices, so they can get new workers up to speed quickly.

“One of our biggest goals was to create engaging, fun, and easy-to-digest training for our mostly Gen Z team. They’re used to consuming content on platforms like TikTok, so we made training short, sharp, and shiny.”

– Megan Ford, FISHBOWL’s Training and Communications Coordinator

A new era of intelligent frontline operations

At SafetyCulture Next 2025, we shared exciting new features and functionality that help organizations get a clearer picture of what’s happening on the ground, turn insights into confident action, and create a culture of improvement.

Here’s how SafetyCulture brings it all together:

  • AI is built into more of our platform than ever before. Teams can summarise reports instantly, search documents for fast, accurate answers, and speed up content creation for checklists and courses.
  • Preventive maintenance functionality enables teams to predict and prevent maintenance-related failures to reduce downtime, streamline operations, and maximize the lifespan of machinery and equipment.
  • Lone Worker monitoring within the platform now provides a complete view of worker safety, enabling leaders to stay connected to workers in the field, and workers to raise the alarm in the event of distress for 24/7 response.
  • Incident Investigations help teams resolve issues more effectively with a purpose-built module that centralizes key information – such as inspections, issues and documents – all in one place.
  • Document management uses the power of AI to surface information in the language of choice so teams can get the critical information they need, fast.
  • Workplace training now includes built-in AI, making it easier to create courses in minutes using a photo, doc, or prompt, with language translation for diverse teams.
  • Advanced analytics provides live operational data from intuitive dashboards so teams can see what’s happening, drill into the details, and make more informed decisions.
