SafetyCulture officially moved into its new US headquarters this week, cementing its commitment to growth in the North American market and in Kansas City’s blossoming tech community.

The company has grown to 320 employees between five locations all over the world. The Kansas City location is home to nearly 40 employees focused on supporting North American customers and operations. The US team has played a key role in growth plans for the region since first moving to the metro at the start of 2014.

“We started ramping up the workforce in Kansas City just a few years ago,” Ross Reed, President of SafetyCulture North America, said.

“During that time, we’ve fallen in love with the urban area. Kansas City’s professional community and emerging startup ecosystem solidified our decision to build the North American Headquarters here in the Midwest to best serve our customers. We have found a large presence of tremendously talented people here to join the team.”

The new 12,000+ square-foot facility will house up to 80 employees, with room to expand the workforce as business continues to grow.

SafetyCulture worked with local and national suppliers to design and outfit the facility. Modern design elements showcase North American customers, the global employee community, SafetyCulture’s values and mission, and the U.S. team’s Kansas City roots.

“Our space was designed to inspire. It’s an ode to our wonderful customers and mission-driven employees. Every aspect is deliberately in place to tell the story of where we started, how far we’ve come as an organization, and the impact we’ve yet to completely fulfill,” Reed said of the state-of-the-art facility.

The office also includes a fully furnished kitchen, or “Play Cafe,” that converts into a 100+ person training facility, numerous meeting rooms and lounge spaces, and a welcoming reception area with interactive touch screen displays

“While we have enjoyed our time at Plexpod Westport commons, this new location is going to be great for our culture and employees,” Reed said.

“This office is part of our ongoing commitment to grow with and invest in the Kansas City community. As we continue to grow North American operations, this will help bring everyone together and provide an energizing environment and collaborative team atmosphere.”
